Guide to Property Investment in Bulgaria
Bulgaria is becoming the hottest property market in Europe.
Over the last five years there has been an unprecedented rise in property prices in Bulgaria's tourist areas.
Bulgaria is looking likely to provide a lucrative long-term investment. It seems investors believe any risk of investment in this "emerging" market is outweighed by the advantages to be gained by investing in a low cost location with the protection of EU membership.
Why Invest in Bulgaria Property?
Property prices remain amongst the lowest in Europe and a burgeoning tourist market is growing by 22% per year. Some developers have seen their tourist property complexes raise in value in excess of a 100% in a year. Even if spread across the board, it still averages out to a sizeable capital growth of 35%.
Investors who have never considered Eastern Europe as part of their strategies are now rethinking their moves. 20% to 30% capital growth in a space of just 6 months is a return that will attract novices and professionals alike, and this is just the beginning.
Since the collapse of communism in 1989, Bulgaria has been opening itself to the West, and its natural attractions have not gone unnoticed. Bulgaria offers long sandy beaches with a warm Mediterranean style sea, five mountain regions and only three hours flight from the UK. Furthermore it enjoys a surprisingly low cost of living, which means your Pound, Euro or Dollar goes a long way.
EU Membership
Since Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007 much has been done to improve the nations infrastructure. Investments in Bulgaria by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have recently past the EUR 1 B mark. (Oxford Business Group (OBG) reported.)
This EU investment means better Roads, Rail and Airports, which makes it easier to access all that Bulgaria has to offer and it seems more and more people are doing so. Bulgaria has become an extremely popular destination for Tourists not only at the well-known Black sea resorts but also as a Ski destination.
